In 2007 Megan Armstead earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Elementary Education from Hofstra University. She began her teaching career in New York City and then moved back to Harrisburg where she taught 5th grade for three years. Mrs. Armstead then decided to further her education at Cabrini College where she received her Masters in Education while obtaining her K-12th grade principal certification. Since 2012 Mrs. Armstead has worked for the Steelton-Highspire School District. Throughout her experience, she's taught 5th grade, 6th-grade Science, and 4th-6th grade Emotional Learning Support. Within the last five years of her experience, she has served as an administrator at the elementary school, 2 years as an assistant principal and the last three years as the head principal. Mrs. Armstead's goal as the lead administrator at Steel-High is to help teachers better educate themselves on creating a safe and positive learning environment for students where her team promotes and models responsible, respectful behavior in order to provide each student with the best learning opportunity.

For the last 40+ years, Carol Gadsden has been an educator in many capacities: a reading specialist, a classroom teacher, a team leader, and a coach. She worked with “at risk” students in an afterschool program with Hempfield Counseling for more than fifteen years. Ms. Gadsden joined the University of Pennsylvania as a facilitator with the Penn Literacy Network in 2009. She was on the first team that initiated the PeaceBeat program pilot.
She continues to be passionate about teaching, children, and education.
